About Riley :p
Riley Drummond is a Toronto based artist currently in her third year at OCADu completing her BDes in Illustration. She works digitally, in greyscale with graphite, or acrylic ink when creating abstract. She primarily creates art stemming from personal experiences and journal entries; focusing specifically on themes of girlhood, growing up, rotting away in your bedroom, her own mental health, and dreams. She is not one to shy away from graphic imagery, her art often including rotten teeth, period blood, and dead animals as well as disheveled women. Drummond's surreal and collage like style creates disorienting liminal and dreamy spaces with the goal of leaving the viewer looking inwards after viewing her art. As she continues to grow as an artist, Drummond hopes to continue creating art that illustrates the uncomfortable yet beautiful notions of getting older and trying to figure things out.
